Society of Indexers - Mission is to promote excellence in indexing and to increase
awareness of the value of well-written, well-designed indexes. The International Association for Research on Textbooks and Educational Media (IARTEM) - nonprofit professional membership association whose mission is to promote research on and an understanding of textbooks and educational media; establish contacts between all parties interested in educational media and textbook issues; and strengthen the focus on educational media and textbook issues in teacher education and teacher training. Sisters of the Academy - Founded in 2001, the mission of Sisters of the Academy (SOTA) Institute is to facilitate the success of Black women in the Academy. Specifically, the organization aims to: 1) create an educational network of Black women in higher education in order to foster success in the areas of teaching, scholarly inquiry and service to the community; 2) facilitate collaborative scholarship among Black women in higher education; 3) facilitate the development of relations to enhance members’ professional development.
